The new sign

If you should find yourself on the road between Lilongwe and Mzuzu you will now be able to find Mphatso Children’s Foundation much more easily as Robyn has a new sign. As with everything in Malawi this sign comes with a bit of a story. Nikki and Steve who recently stayed with Robyn saw the need for a sign so that MCF could be easily found. During their stay with Robyn they organised and paid for the cement and work for the sign to be erected and for the painting to be done. They were told that they would need a certain type of paint which they promptly bought. Unfortunately with the first rain off came the paint!! When I arrived a month later new paint had been bought and a well known local sign writer who had done most of the larger signs locally offered his expertise for a reasonable price. So he and Jonathon were given the job of making MCF easily identifiable. They have done a fantastic job as I’m sure you’ll agree and while Robyn is a bit concerned about the colours as they are the colours of an Australian football team that she refers to as the enemy (Port Adelaide) she is very proud and excited. In fact she is so proud and excited that when we went to wave to the president as he recently drove past on his country wide whistle-stop tour we were not allowed to stand in front of the sign lest we spoil his view of it!!
